MILES - MIL and PRE-BUNKING approaches for Critical thinking in the education sector
The MILES - MIL and PRE-BUNKING approaches for Critical thinking in the education sector project is an Erasmus Partnerships for Innovation - Forward Looking Projects and its number is 101132716 — MILES — ERASMUS-EDU-2023-PI-FORWARD.
MILES - MIL and PRE-BUNKING approaches for Critical thinking in the education sector aims to develop, test and assess innovative approaches for MIL (Media and Information Literacy), pre-bunking, data and digital literacy in educational sector, intervening in both ITT (Initial teacher training) and CPD (Continuous Professional Development) for preparing current and future teachers to address the growing complexity of societal challenges posed by the online environment.
Run by 12 partners from 10 EU countries, the project will develop, test, and assess innovative approaches for MIL, pre-bunking, and data literacy in the educational sector.
As for its implementation, partners will first collect data and best practices through desk-based research and direct interviews with relevant stakeholders (108 in total). This will allow the preparation of a specific training program with materials to be used for both Initial Teachers
Education (ITE) and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) hosted by the MILES e-learning platform. 180 teachers (20 in ITE and 20 in CPD per country) will be trained. After this, the involved teachers in CPD will co-create a Toolbox for their students and facilitate 8 dedicated workshops with them (3 classes with a total of 60 per country, in total 270 students) to integrate pre-bunking techniques in their daily classes.
At the end of these, students will test their acquired skills and competences by co-creating a boardgame and testing it by arranging a tailormade workshop targeted to families (270 parents in total participating). In parallel, several local focus groups with the educational communities in participants countries (270 people participating) will draw up a set of concrete proposals, which will be presented and discussed with policy-makers at national and EU level, involving 600 people in total. Extensive dissemination activities and impact assessment will be carried out during the whole duration of the project.
