Authentic assessment in the in-service teacher training system. Guidebook for training providers
This guidebook is one of the Promoting Authentic Assessment in the Romanian In-Service Teacher Training System project outputs. The project was implemented by the Romanian RWCT Association and supported [in part] by a grant from Foundation Open Society Institute (Zug.).
The guidebook addresses especially in-service teacher training providers, and it we hope it will prove a useful tool in planning and carrying out the assessment of teachers’ competences developed in in-service training programs.
The guidebook promotes authentic, valid and coherent assessment of the teachers’ competences upon completion of in-service training programs and details our experience of the proposed approach to assessment through a series of action research carried out by a group of teachers who completed the Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking in-service training program, and who also completed a module on Action Research.
