”Literacy and Critical Thinking for Learning” Intervention

The Romanian RWCT Association is one of the founding organisations of the EDU Networks programme and one of the educational non-governmental partner organisations in EDU Networks.
The Literacy and Critical Thinking for Learning (LCTL) intervention proposed by the Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking Romanian Association aimed to support EDU Networks schools to implement a programme aimed at developing secondary school students' literacy skills. 


The expected results of the intervention are visible at both teacher and pupil levels.

Teachers will be supported to:

  • design, conduct, monitor and evaluate educational activities that develop secondary school students' literacy skills.

Students will develop:

  • literacy skills
  • critical thinking skills
  • the learning to learn competence.

The format of the Literacy and Critical Thinking for Learning intervention includes five work packages:

  • School enrolment & mentor enrolment and selection;
  • Mentor training: LCTL course (accredited) & specific mentoring training - in blended format;
  • Teacher training: online LCTL course & support/ mentoring;
  • Mentoring programme - activities in schools: workshops on LCTL, lesson study approach, development of a community of practice (webinars with mentors and teachers participating in the course);  
  • Promotion of results: resources (a publication) & an online event (promoting the publication).
